Cappuccino Gift Mix

This is one of my favorite gifts to give and to receive at Christmas or anytime! It's so easy to mix up for last minute gifts. I made some of this with the Caramel Vanilla Coffemate this past weekend. It was really good last night with the cooler temperatures we have had the last several days. I only drink coffee in cold in weather. I know - I'm not normal! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Wednesday - "What's for Supper?"

This is just one of the many reasons that I married my husband.

When we first started dating, he fixed supper for me one night and made this salad. That's when I was convinced that he was the man of my dreams. He had barbecued pork chops, that would melt in your mouth, baked potatoes, and made this salad. I almost didn't eat it because it looked "all mixed up" and I really don't care for green peas but this was wonderful!

Over the past twenty years, I have finally got this in recipe form.

I may add more salt, pepper, salad dressing and vinegar. It just all depends on how it looks and taste. I top the salad with a few sliced eggs, whole olives, and sprinkle with a little paprika for color.

Since it has been hot as blue blazes here all week, I think I might fix this and grill out this weekend. It's what I call cool cooking!

Cool Cooking Tip: I put my eggs in a pan on the stove with water enough to cover them, bring to a boil, and cover the pan with a lid. I turn off the stove,
set the timer for 20 minutes, and let the pan set on the burner of the stove. They are always perfectly done and ready to peel under cold water when the timer goes off.

Scrapbooking Note: I used paint card samples for all the different shades of green circles.

Saturday - Fruit Cobbler

We had supper at my sister's house tonight and this is what I made using a can of blackberry pie filling. I sprinkled a 1/2 cup of sugar with 2 tablespoons of melted butter on top when it came out of the oven. I had to add a few more fat grams - it didn't look like it had enough!

Easy Biscuits

We eat biscuits or cornbread with just about every meal. Maybe that is why my cholesterol is high....

These are the easiest biscuits. I started using this recipe more than twenty years ago. It’s great to add cheese, chopped ham, or cooked bacon or sausage.

Sunday Soup Time

This would be good on a day like today. It's cold and windy here. Good day for soup and snuggling up with a book on the couch.

Wednesday - What's for Supper?

We had these tonight (1/2 of the recipe) with scrambled eggs, and hash browns. Quick and easy supper after a long busy day of work. I have made these before to take to church. They are also good dipped in pancake syrup.

Wednesday - What's for Supper?

Actually, I fixed this for supper last night with Fried Chicken Strips.

I cut boneless chicken breast into 1 inch wide long strips. Dip them in buttermilk and roll in Bisquick and drop into the deep fryer. Oh my! My guys love these!

I also had baby lima beans, boiled potatoes with butter, and cornbread. I fixed enough last night so we would have leftovers tonight.

Saturday Snackin' Time

This is "THE" cheese ball recipe in my family. It was handed down from my cousin who is well known for her wonderful recipes. This cheese ball is at every family gathering we have. For years, we have referred to it as " Mary Helen's Cheese Ball"! I started making the wafers several years ago at Christmas. They go good with anything. My niece can make a meal out of nothing but the cheese ball and club crackers!

Saturday Snackin' Time

This is a different take on Tuna Salad. You could use canned chicken or turkey that has been well drained if you don't like tuna.

UPDATE: Diane over at Diane's Place adds more to her Tuna Ball.
I'm going to try this the next time I make it.

She adds:
1/4 cup grated onion
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tbsp. dry parsley flakes, or 4 tbsp. fresh
1/2 tsp. seasoning salt
1/2 tsp. sugar 2 tsp. paprika

Have a great Saturday!

Wednesday - What's for supper?

This is one of my family's favorites. I will not fix this tonight since I'm going to eat at my sister's house with my two sweet nieces. You can also use canned chicken for the cooked chicken breast for a quick and easy meal. This will probably be supper tomorrow night.

Wednesday - What's for Supper?

Every Wednesday & Saturday I want to feature one of my favorite recipes. I have made several recipe books that are 6x6, so I will post the pages. These books have made great gifts for my family and friends.

This is one of my family’s favorites. It’s also quick and easy which is right up my alley when I get home from work. I like to serve this with a skillet of cornbread, grilled cheese sandwiches, or BLT sandwiches.

Hope you enjoy this!
